Supporting independence, safety, and everyday function.
Occupational Therapy Service Areas Across Greater Sydney
The referral is sitting on the kitchen bench and the first question is not clinical at all: will anyone actually come this far? Drive & Thrive OT is a mobile occupational therapy service, which means assessments happen in your home, your street and your community, right across Greater Western Sydney and the areas surrounding it.
THE DRIVE & THRIVE DIFFERENCE
Mobile OT Assessments Delivered Where You Live
There is no clinic to travel to and no waiting room to sit in. Your occupational therapist comes to you, which matters more than it first appears. Watching how someone manages their own hallway, their own bathroom, their own driveway and their own local roads gives a far more accurate picture of everyday function than any consulting room can.
Assessments across the service area are led by Zenith Williams, an occupational therapist with more than 12 years of practice and a specialist focus in driving and functional capacity assessments. Every assessment is supported by a clear written report prepared for the people who need it, whether that is the NDIS, a licensing authority, an insurer or your treating team.
OUR SERVICES Location
Areas We Service Across Greater Western Sydney
Coverage is built around Greater Western Sydney and extends into surrounding regions. If your suburb sits near the edge of a listed area, it is worth asking rather than assuming.
Parramatta, Westmead and the Inner West Corridor
Parramatta, Westmead, Wentworthville, Northmead, Constitution Hill, Guildford and Auburn.
Assessments in this corridor often follow a hospital discharge or a specialist review, and can be coordinated alongside your existing treating team.
Blacktown, Mount Druitt and Rouse Hill
Blacktown, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Kings Park, Kings Langley, Quakers Hill, Rooty Hill, Mount Druitt, Marsden Park, Schofields, Riverstone, Box Hill and Rouse Hill.
This is the heart of the service area, with the broadest availability across all five assessment types.
Penrith, St Marys and the Blue Mountains Foothills
Penrith, St Marys, Werrington, Kingswood, Emu Plains and the lower Blue Mountains foothills.
Driving assessments in this area use local road environments, including the higher-speed and semi-rural conditions many residents encounter daily.
The Hills District
Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills, Bella Vista, Kellyville, Winston Hills, Glenhaven and Dural.
Home and equipment assessments are frequently requested here for older adults planning to remain in a multi-level home.
Liverpool, Fairfield and Cabramatta
Liverpool, Fairfield, Cabramatta, Canley Vale, Bonnyrigg and surrounding suburbs. Assessments are scheduled with attention to language, cultural context and family involvement where that is what a person wants.
Campbelltown, Camden and the Macarthur Region
Campbelltown, Camden, Narellan, Ingleburn, Minto and Oran Park. The Macarthur region is serviced by arrangement, with travel confirmed as part of your quote before anything is scheduled.
Greater Sydney Metro by Arrangement
Inner West and Northern Sydney assessments can often be accommodated depending on assessment type, travel and scheduling. Ask when you enquire and you will be given a straight answer rather than left waiting.
Occupational Therapy Assessments Available in Your Area
The same five assessments are delivered across the service area, each completed by a qualified occupational therapist and supported by a professional written report.
- OT driving assessments, examining fitness to drive on and off road for older drivers, people with medical conditions and NDIS participants working towards driving goals.
- Functional capacity assessments, examining how you manage everyday activities at home, in the community and at work, for NDIS, insurance, legal and care planning purposes.
- Equipment prescription assessments, matching assistive technology to your body, environment and daily routine.
- Home modification assessments, identifying changes that may improve safety and access, from grab rails through to bathroom reconfiguration.
- Vehicle modification assessments, considering whether adaptive equipment may support safer or more independent vehicle access.
HOW it Works
How a Mobile Occupational Therapy Assessment Works
Drive & Thrive OT works with a range of funding sources and referral pathways. We will confirm which option applies to your situation before anything is booked in.
- NDIS (self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants)
- icare and workers compensation
- Private health insurance, where applicable
- DVA and aged care providers
- Privately funded and family-funded arrangements
Not sure which category applies to you? Call our team or submit an online enquiry, and we will guide you through it.
Enquire or Submit a Referral
Contact the team directly, or ask your GP, specialist or support coordinator to send a referral. The appropriate assessment type, fees, travel and timing are confirmed before anything is scheduled.
Assessment Scheduled at Your Location
Your availability, address and relevant background are confirmed, and the assessment is booked at your home, a community setting or via telehealth where that is appropriate to the component being completed.
Assessment Completed and Report Provided
A qualified occupational therapist completes the assessment and prepares a comprehensive written report. It is shared with you and, with your consent, with any relevant parties, so the next steps can be made with clear information.

Frequently asked Questions
Location questions come up before clinical ones, and reasonably so. These are the ones asked most often.
Which suburbs does your mobile occupational therapy service cover?
Coverage centres on Greater Western Sydney and extends outward. Core suburbs include Parramatta, Westmead, Wentworthville, Northmead, Blacktown, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Kings Park, Kings Langley, Winston Hills, Quakers Hill, Rooty Hill, Mount Druitt, Marsden Park, Schofields, Riverstone, Box Hill, Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Constitution Hill, Penrith, St Marys, Guildford, Liverpool, Fairfield, Cabramatta, Campbelltown and Camden. Inner West and Northern Sydney can often be arranged. If your suburb is not listed, contact the team and it will be confirmed before anything is booked.
Do you charge travel fees for home visits across Greater Sydney?
Travel is quoted transparently before an assessment is scheduled, and the amount depends on your location relative to the service area and the funding source involved. NDIS, icare, DVA and aged care providers each apply their own travel provisions, and these are confirmed in writing as part of the quote. Nothing is booked until fees, including any travel component, have been discussed and agreed.
Can I have an OT driving assessment completed in my local area?
Yes. Off-road components are typically completed in your home or another suitable local setting. On-road components are conducted on roads you would ordinarily drive, which gives a more accurate picture of everyday driving demands than an unfamiliar route would. The starting point and route are discussed with you beforehand, along with the vehicle arrangements that apply to your assessment.
Are functional capacity assessments available across all service areas?
Functional capacity assessments are available throughout the service area. They are usually completed in your home and community because observing how you manage in your own environment produces more relevant recommendations than a clinic room can. Where an assessment spans more than one session, or where a clinical interview component suits telehealth, this is arranged around your location and availability.
What happens if I live outside your usual service area?
Get in touch anyway. Requests outside the core coverage area are considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account travel time, the assessment type and current scheduling. Where an assessment cannot reasonably be delivered, the team will say so early rather than leave you waiting, and can point you toward other options.
Do you provide occupational therapy home visits for NDIS participants?
Yes. Assessments are delivered in home and community settings for NDIS participants across self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed arrangements. Reports are written to align with current NDIA guidelines and are commonly used to support plan reviews, equipment funding applications, home modification approvals and driving-related goals.
How soon can an assessment be scheduled in my suburb?
Availability varies with assessment type, location and current demand. Once your enquiry or referral is received, the team confirms the appropriate assessment, the funding pathway and an indicative timeframe before scheduling. Driving assessments generally require more coordination than a home or equipment visit because of the on-road component and vehicle arrangements.
Which funding options apply to mobile OT assessments in Sydney?
Assessments may be funded through the NDIS, My Aged Care and Home Care Packages, icare and workers compensation, DVA, private health insurance where applicable, or private and family-funded arrangements. Eligibility varies between individuals and funding bodies, so the applicable pathway is confirmed with you before an assessment is scheduled.
Do I need a referral to arrange an assessment in my area?
Not always. Many clients self-refer, while others come through a GP, specialist, support coordinator or family member. Whether a formal referral is required depends on your circumstances and funding type, and this is clarified when you first make contact so there is no confusion later.
Can assessments be completed for a family member who lives elsewhere in Sydney?
Yes. Families and carers frequently coordinate assessments on behalf of a parent or relative, and the assessment is completed at that person’s home wherever possible. With appropriate consent, findings and the written report can be shared with the people involved in their care so that everyone is working from the same information.
